Coming soonmonalisa-1 AI Image Model
monalisa-1 is being designed around composition, light, brushwork and expressive portraiture. It is not available yet — the generator below runs on clearly labeled production models.

What is monalisa-1?
monalisa-1 is the design direction for an AI image model that starts from artistic judgment instead of photographic realism. The intended result is a picture that feels composed: a deliberate subject, meaningful negative space, expressive light and a coherent visual language, from a prompt you did not have to over-engineer.
The name is the brief. Most general-purpose image models optimise for looking like a photograph; monalisa-1 is being built to optimise for looking like a work — a frame you would hang rather than a render you would crop. Until there is a release to measure, everything on this page is stated as intent, not as a result.
Why monalisa-1 is art-first, not photo-first
The model is intended to treat oil, watercolour, printmaking, film and fine-line traditions as controllable visual lineages rather than one-off filters, so a look can hold across a whole series instead of drifting image by image. Portraits get particular attention: expression, hands, fabric and the way light falls on skin.
The boundary is stated as clearly as the ambition. monalisa-1 is not being aimed at dense text rendering, UI mockups or infographics — for that work this site points you to GPT Image 2 instead. An honest capability edge is more useful than a claim of across-the-board superiority, and it is the reason the comparison below has anything real in it.

How to make art-directed images while monalisa-1 is in development
monalisa-1 cannot be selected or charged today. This is how to get art-directed results now, with the models the generator on this page actually runs.
- 1
Start from an available model
Open the generator above and pick GPT Image 2, Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro or Z-Image. Each one is labeled with its real name and its real credit price before you generate anything.
- 2
Describe the picture, not just the object
Name the frame, the light and the medium — a three-quarter portrait, one warm side light, visible brushwork, deep shadow behind the shoulder. Composition-first prompting is the closest you can get today to what monalisa-1 is meant to do on its own.
- 3
Hold one style lineage across the set
Reuse the same medium, palette and lighting sentence in every prompt of a series, and feed a strong result back as a reference image where the model supports it. That is how you keep a look together until a model can keep it for you.
monalisa-1 vs the models you can use today
The planned division of labour is explicit, which is why these pages do not compete for the same job. monalisa-1 aims at artistic expression; the available models below cover the work you need done right now. None of this is a benchmark — monalisa-1 has not been released, so it has not been measured against anything.
monalisa-1 vs GPT Image 2
GPT Image 2 is the broadest entry in the catalog: generation and reference editing, 1K to 4K, and the model this site recommends for layouts that carry readable words. monalisa-1 is deliberately narrower and art-first, and it is the one you cannot use yet — so for anything with a deadline, GPT Image 2 is the answer.
GPT Image 2monalisa-1 vs Nano Banana Pro
Nano Banana Pro is the separately priced Google entry, useful when you want to spend more credits on a matched comparison with up to eight references. monalisa-1 is not a price tier and not an upgrade path; it is a different design goal, and it will be judged on composition rather than on cost.
Nano Banana Promonalisa-1 vs Z-Image
Z-Image is the fastest, cheapest way to test a composition idea at four credits, with no reference uploads at all. It is a good sketchpad while monalisa-1 is in development: one is for throwing ideas away, the other is meant for the frame you keep.
Z-ImageThe creative work monalisa-1 is intended to serve
- 1
Expressive portraiture
Portraits where expression, hands and fabric carry the image and a photographic likeness is not the point.
- 2
Editorial and cover art
Editorial illustration, album covers and narrative key visuals that need a point of view rather than a stock look.
- 3
Consistent art series
Sets of images that must share one artistic lineage — same medium, same light, same hand — across a whole campaign or chapter.
monalisa-1 FAQ
Can I generate with monalisa-1 now?
No. monalisa-1 is not available, cannot be selected in the generator and cannot be charged. The site offers production models as clearly labeled alternatives, and the server rejects the request even if the model value is sent directly.
Are the example images on this site generated by monalisa-1?
No. Every image carries the name of the model that actually generated it. No proxy image is presented as monalisa-1 output, and none will be until the model ships.
When will monalisa-1 specifications be published?
Resolution, aspect ratios, speed and credit pricing all stay TBA until a working release can be measured. Publishing numbers we cannot verify would only make the spec sheet wrong on launch day.
What does art-first actually mean for an image model?
It means optimising for the qualities that make a picture hold together — composition, the relationship between subject and negative space, the drama of the light — rather than for photographic plausibility. It is a different target, not a higher score on the same target.
Which model should I use instead of monalisa-1 today?
GPT Image 2 is the default recommendation because it covers both generation and reference editing. Choose Nano Banana 2 for multi-reference composites, Nano Banana Pro for a higher-cost comparison run, or Z-Image when you only need a quick prompt-to-picture sketch.
Will monalisa-1 handle text rendering, UI mockups and infographics?
Those sit outside the intended scope. This site sends that work to GPT Image 2 today and expects to keep doing so — a model that admits what it is not built for is easier to trust on what it is built for.
Does monalisa-1 appear in pricing or consume credits?
No. It has no credit price, no pricing entry and no paid option anywhere on the site. It is listed as an upcoming direction only, which is why its credit row reads TBA.
Is monalisa-1 a style preset layered on another model?
The intent is a model with artistic priors built in, rather than a preset, filter or prompt wrapper sitting on top of someone else's generator. What that becomes in practice will be described when there is a release to describe.
